The activities of Science Town take place around two symbolic buildings in Tartu – the medieval Dome Cathedral and the Old Observatory of the University of Tartu that is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list.
Already fourth year in a row Science Town invites all younger and older visitors to take part in the rich heritage and the current state of both Estonian and Tartu University’s science. Traditionally, all the activities are free of charge to everybody!
Epochal Jamboree – this year’s catch-word of Tartu Hanseatic Days matches well with Science Town and its activities. Different museums offer the chance to take a glance at history; at the same time various scientific institutions introduce both the contemporary scientific achievements and innovative ideas for the future. The complex world of science becomes more comprehensible in the workshops, programmes and presentations of Science Town. Even the arriving warm summer night does not end the activities on Toome Hill – Toome Stage that is at the command of musicians during daytime, turns once again into romantic Outdoor Cinema presented by Starman.
Meet you at Toome!
